Twinnies Over The Past 6 Years

This and That

In school we were putting words to different feelings. Abel worked on his alone, and came and showed me once completed. I loved the way he thought words were spelled.

For some time now the twinnies have being helping out with drying up dishes. A few mornings ago, Abel washed up and Abby dried. Was really sweet to watch.

We are enjoying fresh laid eggs. At present we are getting around a dozen a day which is extending my creativity with recipes and meal selections. In the above picture you can see one enormous egg - a double yolker.

One recipe that I made to use up some eggs was this Orange Chocolate Tart. It was YUM!

Lily-Love

Leah our daughter of contrasts. Leah loves butterflies and elephants; loves to look at herself in any available reflective surface yet always without fail will have one or more items of clothing on backwards; loves to play iside while the other children are outside yet, will rough and tumble often with her oldest brother. Leah is a keen learner and wants to be reading books independently, she's doing really well and can already read a number of words.

Are these the twins?

Often people mistake these two girls to be twins. They do have similarities in their looks and Leah is almost as tall as Abby, but as much as they looks like they are twins, they aren't! Their characters are very different and yet they are most of the time very close friends. Thankful for these two (as I am for the other 3 children!) and the different dynamics, laughter, tears and fun they add to our family.

Growing Up

6 Year Old Twins

Hard to believe that 6 years ago we felt like we'd been hit by a freight train! It was a super steep learning curve for us as parents, especially for me not having any younger siblings and very few interactions with babies. Very thankful for the twinnies, and that God has kept them safe through a rough start to the pregnancy and then through the last years our many bumbling efforts, and lack of knowledge.
Abel (if I call him this he corrects me and says his name is Bunny, as he loves bunnies) is our hands-on, figure out how everything works boy. He's pulled apart the vacuum cleaner, looked around in the dishwasher, and countless other things in order to work out how they go. He is a whiz with Lego, putting together really complex constructions including Technic. He enjoys going outdoors and riding around on his bike.
Abby is a huge help around the house and with her siblings. Abby is the one who is called upon to care for a younger sibling. She comes up with many games for them to play. Abby is a keen learner and is doing really well with reading. Abby loves giraffes and yellow, and likes to do most things just as I do them. Abby has expressed a belief, and trust in the Lord Jesus.

3 Year Old Boy

Mid-August was Sammy's 3rd birthday. Sammy loves polar bears and grizzly bears, and frequently refers to himself as Baby Polar. His love of outdoors as continued, and often wants to go outside to dig, ride around or get up to boy mischief. Sammy hasn't started schooling yet, however he likes to feel included during school times and asks for "polar school".

Baby Girl

Bekah is one of our earliest walkers, taking her first proper steps two days before her 1st birthday. The bag of 'baby' toys are not often touched as Bek likes to play with her older siblings, go through kitchen drawers, or sit in the swing outside. She longs for the day when she is allowed to roam free out in the yard. Sammy is one of her most favourite people, alongside Mummy & Daddy.
